Caroline Chia completed her doctorate at the Asia Institute, University of Melbourne in 2016. Feeling a strong urgency to sustain her hometown heritage of traditional Chinese puppetry in Singapore, Caroline has published several papers on the topic, and organized workshops and exhibitions hoping to promote the theatrical art form, especially to the younger generation. She is currently working on a book project on the five regional forms of traditional Chinese puppetry found in Singapore.
