Outreach & Education
What does puppet theater have to do with you? What matters to whom? Which questions can we answer more creatively through play? What role can puppets play in this...? Outreach & Education explores these and similar questions—in dialogue between the puppet theater, museum, and the diverse people of this city.

KOLK 17 gets an X!
Together, we continue to shape the role that puppet theater can play in society. KOLK X is an open educational concept, envisioned as a platform for the urban community, a forum for needs, and a free space for ideas. Creatively, playfully, and through dialogue, we engage with people, communities, and organizations, fostering participatory processes and evolving continuously. To achieve this, we collaborate with artists, performers, and educators.
KOLK X expands into Outreach & Education, into outreach cultural work, and a program of offerings. Exactly what lies behind the 'X' can only be discovered together. Here are some program areas you can already look forward to:
KOLK X FIGURE TALKS
With the reopening, we will offer themed tours for both young and adult visitors, creating museum visits and theater discussions that are dialogical and interactive.
KOLK X PUPPET RESEARCH
Creative puppet research combines observation, design, and play. We offer open and bookable workshops primarily for educational institutions and families, gradually expanding to include more projects and workshops in our program.
KOLK X PLAYGROUND
In the theater program, the X represents especially diverse, experimental, accessible, and mobile theater moments by guest performers – as well as forums for discussion and exchange about the diverse puppet theater of the future.
KOLK X WYLD!
We appear in local neighborhoods, creating projects with the people on-site. With many questions and a puppet or two in tow, we set out into various districts and neighborhoods, meeting outside the Kolk. The focus is determined by everyone involved.
KOLK X META
In the open storage of the new permanent exhibition, representatives from the local community curate their own exhibition areas. Our first guest curators are the girls from the Wednesday group at mixed pickels e.V.
