Gerhard Mensching founded his literary ‘pocket theatre’ in 1958. The puppets always consist of a glove and a ball-and-socket head, which come to life through delicate hand and finger movements. Their roles are recognisable from the objects attached to the puppets. Mensching invented a very emotional, accessible artificial language for the puppets.
